My flight from Hyderabad to London was long and not my favorite trip ever. I was able to sleep quite a bit. The kids behind me enjoyed kicking my seat and moving the tray up and down - during all 10 hours of the flight. I kept my cool and was very patient. When the kids began crying, I played peek-a-boo and we were all laughing by the time we landed.
Karma is a beautiful thing. After that long flight and a bus from the plane to the terminal, the woman at the British Airways check-in informed me that I had been bumped up to business class! She also told me that I could use the club level upstairs. I told her that I wanted to hug her and she let me know that it wasn't necessary. :)
So I found my way up to the club and the woman informs me of the services they have - free wi-fi, free drinks and snacks, and FREE SHOWERS!
After a 10 hour flight that followed an 8 hour work day, I felt like I had won the lottery! So I went and checked in for a shower and returned to the lounge with a new outlook on life.
I grabbed a few snacks and now I'm lounging around and for the first time ever...I'm appreciating a long lay-over.
I have a few more hours up here, and then I will be back home by 11pm tonight.
